Huron Centennial Public School is located on 30 plus acres of property in rural Ontario and is a wonderfully kind, caring, and compassionate school community with a dedicated, supportive, and professional staff. Our unique natural setting allows our students many opportunities to extend their learning outdoors. We have grown to 16 classrooms, including three full day learning classrooms with Teacher/Early Childhood educator teams.
Numerous opportunities for student engagement both inside and outside of the classroom are consistently provided in order to address the strengths, needs and interests of all our students. Our teachers are motivated to continue their own professional learning. Our focus remains on student achievement with a focus on math in the primary and junior divisions, while our intermediate division teachers are engaged in work related to “New Pedagogies for Deep Learning”, an approach that supports learning in all subject areas. Mental health and well-being are also important at our school. Staff and student leaders have been involved in initiatives that promote creating the positive atmosphere of respect and inclusion that we value at our school.
